Necessary Evils


So I actually got up early enough to get out and do some weeding this morning. I decided to tackle the tiny front bed that was overtaken with crabgrass and bermuda grass (the two banes of my gardening existence). I had tried to clean it up some last night, but got some kind of nasty contact dermatitis on my arms and legs that burned like crazy, so I gave up.

This morning, dressed in long sleeves, jeans, and gloves, I tackled it again. I was making good progress,

Bees, butterflies, and weeds

My yard, as I said before, is always totally out of control in August and even into September. This morning, I planned to do some weeding, but found the weeds in front totally covered with bees. The weeds in back were playing host to feeding butterflies. Now how do you pull those up?

Something I Don't Want to Post Pictures Of

My yard always looks like hell in August. In case you don't know, I have lupus, which means I can't handle heat at all. Thus, I'm lucky if I even get my yard mowed on a weekly basis. I get really angry at people who say I should hire someone to do it. It's nice that they have the money to do that, but I don't.
